MAX86916 is an integrated optical sensor module for mobile health. It is an integrated optical sensor platform with applications in bio-sensing, proximity, and colour. It includes internal LEDs, photodetectors, and low-noise electronics with ambient-light-rejection circuitry. This helps ease design-in effort to all mobile and wearable devices. It operates on a 1.8V supply voltage, with a separate 5.5V power supply for the internal LEDs. Communication to and from the module is accomplished entirely through a standard I²C-compatible interface. The module can be shut down through software with near zero standby current, allowing the power rails to remain powered at all times. Application includes smartphones/accessories, tablets, wearable devices, fitness assistant devices.

- Power supply voltage range from 1.7 to 2V (verified during PSRR test)
- 410μA typ supply current (one LED exposure/sample, LEDx-PA = 0x00, LED-PW = 220µS, SR = 100sps)
- Sampling clock frequency is 32KHz typical at (VDD = 1.8V, VLED = 5V)
- VREF range from 1.195 to 1.220V (VDD = 1.8V, VLED = 5V, TA = -40°C to +85°C)
- 14 lead OLGA package, temperature range from -40°C to + 85°C
